A Clothing Subscription That Doesn’t Make You Return Anything
If you’ve used a clothing subscription before, you probably know the routine: try things on within 3 days, decide what to keep, repackage the rest, print a label, drive to the post office. Urbanebox is built without that loop. Here’s what “no required returns” actually means.
Why most clothing subscriptions require returns
Most popular services — Stitch Fix, Wantable, Trunk Club — operate on a “try and decide” model. You receive 5–7 items, decide which to keep within a return window (usually 3–7 days), and ship back the rest. The model has real benefits for the service: it shifts inventory risk back to the customer’s living room, drives higher per-item conversion, and gives the algorithm more signal. But it has real costs for you: pressure decisions, return logistics, and the mental overhead of always having outgoing packages on your to-do list.
How Urbanebox is structured differently
We built Urbanebox around a different question: what if the styling were good enough that returns weren’t part of the workflow at all? That meant several specific design choices:
- A real human stylist reads every quiz answer. Not just a profile vector going into an algorithm — actual people choosing items they think you’ll wear.
- Smaller boxes at higher quality. 3 to 6 pieces depending on tier, all hand-picked, instead of 5–7 with hit-or-miss algorithmic matching.
- Free size exchanges instead of returns. If something doesn’t fit, exchange it free with shipping covered both ways. This handles the most common reason people would want to return.
- Style Pass refinement over time. Your stylist learns from past boxes and exchanges, so each subsequent box gets more accurate.
What you actually do when your box arrives
Open it. Look at the pieces. Try them on. Hang them in your closet. That’s the workflow. There is no return label, no 3-day window, no decision pressure. If something doesn’t fit, log into your account and request a free size exchange. If something’s not your style, it’s still yours — sell it, donate it, or stash it for travel.

FAQ
What if I get my Urbanebox and genuinely can’t wear anything in it?
Free size exchanges cover most fit issues. If a piece is genuinely off-style for you, contact support and let your stylist know — that information shapes future boxes, and we’ll work toward making it right.
How is “no returns” different from “no refunds”?
“No returns required” means you don’t need to ship anything back as part of the normal workflow. “No refunds” would mean we never refund anything, which isn’t true — refunds are handled case-by-case via support for genuine issues like a damaged item or a billing problem.
Can I sell or donate items I don’t want?
Yes. Everything in your box is yours. Sell on Poshmark, donate to a friend, list on eBay — totally up to you.
What about trying things on in the box at home like Stitch Fix?
You can absolutely try things on. We just don’t make trying on into a return decision. Try, hang up the things you love, exchange the things that don’t fit, and ignore the items you’re unsure about — they might grow on you.
